must-have monday

A showcase of items I find noteworthy enough to share. Some are big, most are small, if I had a million dollars I would definitely buy them all.

Today's must-have is quite simple. Chocolate. But not just any chocolate, chocolate created by you! Chocri, a German based chocolate company who recently launched in the US creates custom chocolate bars based on the customer's specifications. I first learned about Chocri when Reeni (@ Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice) was part of a blog relay race where custom bars were being created by bloggers for bloggers. I was fortunate enough to be a part of this race and cannot wait for my custom bar to arrive once both teams (boys vs girls) reach 100 bars.

From their website:
What we do is we allow you to customize your own chocolate bar here on our website. You get to choose a base chocolate (white, dark or milk chocolate), and then your favorites out of more than 100 toppings. Those can be nuts and dried fruit, but they can also be real gold flakes, roasted almonds, pretzel, chive rolls, jalapenos... you name it! We hand-make the bars in Germany, and ship them to you.

We want you to eat chocolate and fully enjoy the good feeling it creates, hence we use only the best ingredients, such as organic, fair trade chocolate from Belgium.

Basically, you have full control over making an insanely delicious bar of chocolate. There are over 100 ingredients to add to your white, milk, or dark chocolate base. My personal favorites include: ginger, bourbon vanilla, sea salt, hazelnut brittle, and honey chocolate drops - just to name a few. Topping your bars with real gold flakes or mini heart decorations and selecting the pink Valentine's packaging would make a sweet gift. Speaking of Valentine's Day - order your bars by February 1st and you'll have them in time to celebrate!

The base chocolate prices start around $6, with each ingredient being an additional charge, making the average bar between ten and fifteen dollars. A little pricey for an everyday snack, but would be an awesome gift or special treat. Each bar is 3.5 ounces so they should last you more than one sitting. {however, if you eat it all at once, I swear not to judge you!} Also, if you're a Facebook user, head on over and become a fan. Once they hit 2,000 fans, every fan will be sent a $10 coupon code to be used on their site. The small balance remaining would be more than worth the price to try your hand at creating a one of a kind treat!

Head over to Chocri and see where your creativity leads you, you're in for a sweet surprise!

How fun! I love me some chocolate. But honestly, do people really choose to top their chocolate with jalapenos?? I just can't even imagine that being good.
