low and slow sweet potatoes

I have seen several bloggers mention the low and slow method of cooking sweet potatoes for quite some time and decided Thanksgiving was the perfect opportunity to try these out. They were so easy and so flavorful that they will be making an appearance in our kitchen year round.

There is only one ingredient - sweet potatoes, washed, dried and sliced into 1 inch rounds.

Place on a foil lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and an additional 20 minutes at 400 degrees. That's it, I promise. Don't you dare put anything on them, they won't need it.

They come out of the oven the consistency of round sweet potato clouds. Those beads of caramelized sugar on top? You should have seen me trying to convince Zach that there was no sugar or honey added to the sweet potatoes before baking. These were some of the best sweet potatoes I have ever had - in their simplest form, straight from nature.
