The lovely Damaris over at Kitchen Corners is kicking the new year off on a healthy note by sharing thirty one salad recipes during the month of January. I am so lucky to have gotten to know Damaris in 2011. We met by sharing an afternoon of writing and cooking, shared pizza and acai bowls in the company of Ben and their families and even spent the day sailing and playing on the Santa Cruz boardwalk before I left San Francisco. She's pretty awesome to have welcomed me in to her family like that.

Who knows, maybe I can save enough pennies to go visit her in Brazil before her sweet family moves back to the states. I think that's an excellent goal for 2012 - after all, I do have a newly renewed passport and brand new set of luggage just waiting to be used!
